AIHW opportunities

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is Australia’s national agency for health and welfare statistics, analysis and information. A Canberra-based statutory authority, our work informs community discussion and decision-making. It includes collecting and analysing data about health, housing and community services, and about the health and welfare of Australians. We play a key role in developing national statistical standards and also classifications.

"In October 2007 the AIHW took part in the first Great Place to Work (GPTW) survey in Australia. All staff were invited to complete a questionnaire that was sent directly to the GPTW organisation. 89% of AIHW staff who responded agreed that the AIHW is a great place to work. I thoroughly enjoy working at the Institute and would encourage any graduate who is looking to develop their career, while working in a professional, friendly and supportive environment to apply for a position." -- Rebecca Bennetts, Graduate 2004

"I was concerned that my age might count against me, plus the fact that I have not worked in an office environment for some thirty years, but this was not to be the case. The interview and selection process was rather pleasant, not nearly as harrowing as some of the others my friends had told me about." -- Lynda Carney, Graduate 2007
