2011 Teacher Education Scholarships Program

ENERGISE YOUR TEACHING FUTURE WITH A SCHOLARSHIP
The NSW Department of Education and Training’s teacher education scholarships offer great benefits for students wanting to train as teachers in mathematics, science or English and in primary or secondary special education.
Up to 300 scholarships are on offer this year, of which at least 80 will be available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to train as teachers in primary or any secondary subject area.
As a scholar you will receive a generous allowance of $5,000 per year for each year of full-time studies, plus a one-off grant of $3,000 when you begin teaching. For the typical duration of a four-year course for a teacher education degree, this amounts to $23,000 for you to spend as you wish!
In addition, you may be eligible for the HECS-HELP benefit from the Commonwealth Government.
