Do you want to make a difference?

Treasury and its people are at the forefront of Australian economic analysis and policy development. By providing advice to the Treasurer and the Australian Government, Treasury’s activities impact directly on the lives of Australians. No matter the issue of the day, Treasury is involved. From climate change to corporate governance, macro policy settings to microeconomic reform, tax policy to trade agreements, we play a key role. The diversity of our business is one of our greatest strengths.

Do you want to make a difference?

As a graduate, you could find yourself working in a number of roles in Treasury from economic forecasting, promoting stable financial systems and markets in Australia to designing tax legislation or helping to shape environmental policy. Whatever you do, you will be using your current skills and learning new ones!

What we offer graduates

Our 12-month Graduate Development Program will provide you with a solid base for your first years in Treasury, combining both on-the job training with formal in-house and external courses.

The program will enable you to continue to develop your skills, demonstrate your abilities and become a valuable asset for Treasury. And the learning opportunities will continue throughout your career in Treasury.

As well as our graduate program, we also offer cadetship to students about to commence Honours in Economics.
