Every Member Counts at the NIA

The National Institute of Accountants (NIA), a full member of the International Federation of Accountants, is the only professional accounting association to offer the NIA Program, a qualification that leads to a Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting).

What really sets the NIA apart, however, is our personalised service encapsulated in our philosophy of Every member counts. With over 22,000 members and students working and living in over 50 countries around the world, we pride ourselves on being able to give each person the time and attention they need to become a successful accounting professional.

It’s all about you

No matter where you choose to call home, the NIA’s strength and support is never far away. NIA accountants are backed by professional tools and more than 85 years of knowledge, which is why NIA members succeed in all areas of the industry, including executive and management roles. We keep you connected through multiple publications, networking and continuing professional education events to make sure you’re up to date and in the know.

NIA Program

The NIA Program is the only accounting program that leads to an internationally recognised Master of Commerce (Professional Accounting).

The program is delivered online by the University of New England (UNE), meaning you can develop your skills from anywhere in the world while you build your career. Leap ahead with the NIA Program and become a highly qualified accountant with a competitive edge.

Mentored Experience Program

The NIA Mentored Experience Program (MEP) produces rounded accounting professionals through a structured approach to workplace learning. During the program you work with an experienced accountant who mentors you through the beginning of your career. At the end of the MEP you will have gained skills and experience to help you reach your career goals.

Be your own boss

If you’d rather be your own boss, the NIA can help you set up your own practice or help you become a partner in a firm. As an NIA Public Accountant you’ll have the required recognition in legislation and access to a range of tailored services to ensure your business is quickly established as a professional practice.

Accounting career guide

Almost every industry in every country needs qualified accountants. The NIA has a comprehensive career guide so that you can know just what is possible as an accountant. Pick up your free copy at the NIA stall at your university’s career fair or visit www.nia.org.au
