Energise Your Career with the Woodside Graduate Program

“I joined Woodside in 2007 as a graduate instrument/electrical engineer. So far I have worked in the facility engineering teams for two of Woodside’s offshore assets, Northern Endeavour, a floating production storage and offloading vessel in the Timor Sea and North Rankin A, a gas platform 130 km offshore from Karratha.

This role involves providing front line engineering support to ensure the safe production of oil and gas. As a graduate in the instrument/electrical discipline, I work with the other engineers in my team to ensure power generation, control systems and instrumentation are working correctly and plan modifications or upgrades as required. Every day brings different challenges as you never know what issues might arise on the platform. Going offshore is a highlight, not just for the spectacular views of the coastline from the helicopter, but for the interesting hands-on jobs. I have been involved in scoping up project work, troubleshooting a compressor control package and a maintenance shutdown.

As part of the graduate program I have met lots of great people, expanded my technical knowledge, attended a production system training course in the Netherlands and have even done some whale watching when offshore. It has been rewarding and lots of fun.”
