A different approach to development - OneSteel
A different approach to development

Are you looking for development opportunities that fit your individual needs? Top ASX-listed mining and manufacturing company OneSteel takes a different approach to graduate development than many other organisations.
Rather than be locked into a prescribed ‘graduate development’ program, OneSteel graduates instead work with their manager to develop personal learning objectives each year, and review these at regular intervals.
In 2009, Operations & Logistics Graduate Rahi undertook his Six Sigma Green Belt training and took time off to undertake a manufacturing internship in Brazil; whilst Graduate Lawyer Jeff attended workshops with OneSteel’s Commercial Group to learn more about the business and practical skills like ‘influencing others.’
In 2010, several graduates have been selected for OneSteel’s ‘YoungSteelers’ program, designed to fast-track the leadership capability and provide broad business exposure and networking to entry-level professionals. They’re working in teams on a project, lead by a General Manager, and will present the result to OneSteel’s executives this coming May.
Whatever the development objectives of OneSteel graduates; they’re tied to our Leadership Competencies, so grads know they’re on track developing skills they’ll need not only in their current role, but as a future leader.
In 2011, OneSteel is offering graduate positions across a range of streams including Business Management, Engineering, Geoscience, HR, Law, Operations & Logistics and Sales & Marketing.
Applications close 6 April 2010 at www.onesteelgrads.com
