What we offer our graduates

Graduates work on issues as diverse as international intelligence, people smuggling, electronic visas, refugees and asylum seekers, multicultural affairs, migration and migrant communities, overseas student programs or tourism, finance and human resources and information technology and business systems.

The Graduate Development Program is a 10 month learning and development program, including formal training blocks, on the job learning and development across the department. The program comprises of rotations designed to give graduates an opportunity to experience a range of operational and policy work across the department. After completing the program, graduates are well-placed to compete for advancement across the department.

Graduates are appointed to DIAC’s National Office in Canberra. Our state and territory offices also appoint graduates on the request of the offices.
