The NSW Department of Community Services (DoCS) promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and works to build stronger families and communities. We provide early intervention, child protection, foster care, adoption services and help for communities affected by disaster.


As the largest child protection agency in Australia with more than 4,500 employees, our offices and Community Services Centres are located across metropolitan and regional NSW from Tweed Heads to Albury and Broken Hill.

To be eligible for permanent employment in DoCS, you need to be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status. Temporary residents can apply for temporary vacancies only. All DoCS positions are treated as child-related employment and all offers of employment are subject to a Working with Children Check, as well as other relevant criminal records checks.
