Genesis Energy is a state-owned enterprise with a diverse electricity generation portfolio. We are also New Zealand’s largest energy retailer.
We own and operate 2,025MW of electricity generation, including New Zealand’s largest thermal power station at Huntly, a high efficiency 48MW open gas cycle turbine at Huntly and a newly commissioned 385 MW combined cycle gas turbine, hydro stations at Tongariro and Lake Waikaremoana, Hau Nui Wind Farm in the Wairarapa and co-generation facilities at large industrial sites at Te Awamutu and Kinleith.
We are New Zealand’s largest retailer with over 700,000 electricity and gas customers located predominantly in the North Island. The company is heavily involved in fuel exploration to secure future fuel supplies for New Zealand, and has a 31 per cent equity interest in the Kupe oil and gas field and a 40 per cent equity stake in the Cardiff deep gas prospect.

Terms and conditions
We offer a starting salary of $38,000 per annum. Other employee benefits include superannuation, health insurance, life, trauma and income protection insurance. Free parking is currently available at all our sites.
