Western Power is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient distribution and transmission of electricity in the south west of Western Australia, which encompasses the Perth metropolitan area. We connect electricity to homes, offices and factories, and maintain the electricity network.
Our electricity network, the largest ‘interconnected’ network in Western Australia, consists of nearly 88,000km of power lines. The network extends from Kalbarri in the north, to Kalgoorlie in the east and south to Albany.

“The Graduate Engineer Program has been invaluable in forging my career as an Engineer. The graduate rotations have given me diverse experience in the utility industry.I have also had the support of a mentor who provides me with guidance, encouragement and supported me in my application for chartered status with Engineers Australia. The camaraderie on the Graduate Program is a real benefit.” -- Western Power Graduate Engineer of the year, Michael Lee Steere
