The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) gives you diverse opportunities and experience across the entire financial services industry: banking + insurance + superannuation. Put yourself in the equation and help shape the future of Australia’s financial services industry.
Introducing APRA
APRA is the prudential regulator of the financial services industry and oversees banks, credit unions, building societies, life and general insurance companies and reinsurance companies, friendly societies and most of the superannuation industry.
We currently supervise institutions holding approximately $3.6 trillion in assets for 22 million Australian depositors, policyholders and superannuation fund members.
Opportunities exist for graduates in front-line supervision of banks, insurance companies and superannuation funds, as well as part of highly specialised teams providing advice and consulting services to front-line supervisors. We:
monitor institutions’ financial position and outlook
assess risks in financial institutions
licence new financial institutions
enforce directions to protect policyholders, depositors and superannuation fund members.
What we offer graduates
As a graduate you’ll benefit from a tailored training program, a special ‘buddy’ system, a mentoring program and the opportunity to rotate to another APRA division in your first year with us.
Remuneration is performance linked at APRA. In addition to annual remuneration increases, you will be eligible for annual performance bonuses after a 12-month qualifying period as a reward for your effort and commitment. APRA also has a generous study support program that includes financial support and time off for study and exams.
After a successful 12-month traineeship period you will be promoted to the role of Analyst. At APRA progression is based on performance, not tenure. Promotions are available to the right people – even without a vacancy being available. It’s our policy.
