Our graduate program

Unico’s Graduate development program ensures that you experience the full breadth of our operations by providing you with a rotational development plan for the first 12 months of your employment. Commencing with a comprehensive induction and training program you will then undertake work in various departments which span all aspects of the software development life cycle, such as Development, Testing and Operational Support. We also offer rotations in our Internal Support Group for graduates seeking a career in Network and Systems Administration. 

During on-the-job training you will partner with a mentor or senior staff member on important projects and rapidly expand your professional capabilities. At the successful completion of the development and rotation program we will match your skills, talent and area of career interest with a role in one of the key areas within the business. Of course that is not the end of your development or career growth within Unico. We provide a culture of continuous learning and development and career opportunities.

We employ Graduate Software Engineers/Developers, Software Testers, Network/Systems Administrators and Operational Support Engineers. Ideally you will have:

  • A high academic average
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative, ambition, attention to detail, a desire to learn and a team spirit
  • Any work or university project experience in programming, testing, support or systems administration
  • Knowledge/study in areas such as Unix (Solaris/Linux), Java, J2EE, C++ and databases, e.g. Oracle 9i/10g & SQL
  • Understanding of software engineering principles (i.e. the software development life cycle, quality management, etc.) 
Degree/disciplines

IT | Software Engineering | Computer Science | Telecommunications Engineering

We are also open to graduates from other disciplines who wish to work in the ICT industry.
