Navy Systems Command

Navy System Branch (NAVSYS) is a Canberra based organisation that brings together Navy-unique platform, weapon, intelligence and communication systems engineering into one organisation.  We are responsible for determining class materiel policies, materiel requirements, certification regimes and standards in support of the acquisition of surface ships, submarines, aircraft, support craft and related facilities for the Royal Australian Navy.  We also provide specialist engineering support through the life of equipment, including the test and trials phases and “in service” support.

Our culture & values

NAVSYS is an ‘integrated’ workforce, combining both Public Service and Military personnel.  Our staff are given the authority to make decisions with the full support of management, and use their expertise to meet Navy’s organisational goals.  This philosophy is in accordance with the Defence ‘Results through People’ ethos.  NAVSYS creates a workplace that values people for their contribution.  We uphold the Defence APS values:  Professionalism, Loyalty, Integrity, Courage, Innovation and Teamwork.
