Our Community Services focus is:

  • Family support initiatives for families and children in need
  • Youth initiatives for disadvantaged young people
  • Housing support initiatives for homeless people, and those at risk of homelessness
  • Community building initiatives that help strengthen and empower entire communities

Mission Australia is continually creating contemporary services to help people in need.  We currently have 450 Community and Employment services across Australia and more than 3,600 staff.

What we offer Graduates

Mission Australia offers a variety of challenging opportunities for committed graduates to gain experience in the Community Services sector.  We seek highly motivated graduates for positions such as youth workers, counsellors, child care workers, aged care workers and nurses.   We aim to match a graduate’s discipline and background to the most appropriate Community Service.

As part of the Graduate Program Mission Australia offers:

  • A comprehensive induction into Mission Australia, our values, our programs and administrative procedures.
  • A Graduate Program Coordinator
  • A  personal mentor to guide you professionally
  • A chaplain to support you holistically
  • Accredited training in Mental Health First Aid, Conflict Resolution and Time Management

With more than 450 services nationally, the geographical spread of our organisation means you can choose between a city or rural lifestyle.

Degree/disciplines

Psychology | Social Work | Criminology | Business  Early Childhood Education | Nursing | Occupational Therapy | Community Services Diploma or other Human Services qualification.

Eligibility

Candidates must demonstrate that they can work within an organisation whose values are compassion, integrity, respect, perseverance and celebration. You will have graduated recently, will be graduating this year or have recognised overseas qualifications.  You must be an Australian Citizen or a permanent resident, and have a full driver’s licence.

Position locations

Mission Australia operates from every State and Territory in Australia (National Office in Sydney).
