Centennial Coal

Centennial is an Australian owned coal mining and marketing company supplying thermal and coking coal
to the domestic and export markets. The company is a
major supplier for the NSW energy industry, fuelling almost 40 per cent of the State’s coal fired electricity. We also sell approximately a third of our coal into the export market to customers including power stations and steel mills in Japan, Korea, India and Europe through ports at Newcastle and Port Kembla.

What we offer graduates

Centennial Coal relies on the skills and commitment of its people and provides suitable graduates the opportunities and learning experiences that will lead them to becoming full and productive team members with the potential of long-term employment in a growing company.

The two-year graduate program offers a full range of opportunities, such as experience in and firsthand knowledge of the coal mining industry; hands-on and practical underground experience in longwall, development and continuous miner operations; experience in project management; professional learning and development; and a solid grounding for further statutory qualifications.

Each graduate is allocated a mentor who is required to assist and direct the graduate. The mentor has the technical skills and qualifications in a discipline similar
to the graduate in their charge. They offer support and guidance to the graduate throughout the program in
a formal and informal manner. Through this process
graduates quickly develop the capabilities which enable
them to make independent contributions to the business across a wide range of activities.
