Centennial Coal

Centennial Coal is an Australian owned and operated coal mining and marketing company, supplying thermal coal  to domestic and export markets. As the major fuel supplier to the New South Wales energy Industry, Centennial Coal helps fuel approximately 46 per cent of the State’s coalfired electricity.

Centennial Coal sells approximately one third of its coal to export market customer’s including power stations and steel mills in Japan, Korea and Europe. Centennial exports its coal through the ports of Newcastle and Port Kembla.

The two-year graduate program offers a full range of opportunities, such as experience in and firsthand knowledge of the coal mining industry; hands-on and practical underground experience in longwall, development and continuous miner operations; experience in project management; professional learning and development and a solid grounding for further statutory qualifications.

Each graduate is allocated a mentor who is required to assist and direct the graduate. The mentor has the technical skills and qualifications in a discipline similar to the graduate in their charge. They offer support and guidance to the graduate throughout the program in a formal and informal manner. Through this process graduates quickly develop the capabilities which enable them to make independent contributions to the business across a wide range of activities.

Seeking

Highly motivated graduates who demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, leadership potential, initiative, enthusiasm and well-developed interpersonal skills. You will also need to have the flexibility to relocate between Centennial’s mining operations located in the NSW Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Lithgow regions of NSW.
