CB&I is one of the world’s leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies specializing in projects for customers that produce,
process, store and distribute the world's natural resources.
With more than 80 locations and approximately 18,000 employees throughout the world, we are a fully integrated EPC service provider, offering a complete package of conceptual design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, field construction, mechanical installation and commissioning. We serve customers in a number of key industries including oil and gas; petrochemical and chemical; power; water and wastewater; and metals and mining.
The purpose of the Engineer Development Program is
to provide a valuable foundation of knowledge and experience as a professional engineer in the heavy engineering and construction industry.
CB&I hires Graduate Engineers for career opportunities rather than for a specific position or project. It is expected that participants in the program will develop a good understanding about all aspects of company operations while developing their personal professional capabilities. To support achieving these goals a wide range of opportunities is offered.
CB&I’s Engineer Development Program is an actual “hands-on” working experience during which the Engineer may perform tasks in Engineering Design, Procurement, Field Construction and Project Controls. These assignments help Engineers with career direction and career goals. Time in different areas will vary, depending on the individual’s interest and progress, as well as opportunities within the Company. The total training time varies for each individual but is normally in the range of two to three years.
During the program, each Engineer will learn how CB&I is organised and will gain familiarity with the products, procedures, and personnel within CB&I.
Engineers will learn what each department does to
make it possible to estimate, design, purchase, fabricate,
construct and test a structure or system. In summary, they will gain hands-on experience of the contracting business as practised by CB&I.
