AFP Graduate Program

The AFP graduate program currently provides opportunities in various streams. While on the program you will undertake a 12-month comprehensive training and development program including three varied work placements. You will be given a dedicated mentor to provide assistance and support and will have the opportunity to contribute to policy formation and delivery. 

To be eligible for the AFP graduate program you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen.
  • By February of the year of engagement have completed a three-year minimum bachelor degree at an Australian University, OR have completed a degree that has been recognised by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).
  • Hold a degree that is no more than 12 months old.
  • Be willing to relocate to Canberra.

Federal Agent

Federal Agents are police officers with the AFP who investigate national and international crimes against the Commonwealth.

As a Federal Agent you may be required, or apply to undertake duties, at the AFP head office in Canberra, AFP regional offices in every Australian state and territory, and in overseas liaison posts in many countries around the world.

ACT Policing

Community policing with the AFP is a diverse and challenging career choice.

In addition to the variety of community policing duties, you will have opportunities to gain experience in specialised policing roles, both uniformed and plain clothed as well as working with national and international law enforcement agencies.
