The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is the peak national agency responsible for promoting competition, fair trading and consumer protection. Employees of the ACCC are also able to work for the Australian Energy Regulator which has responsibility for economic regulation of the gas and electricity markets, and enforcement of the gas and electricity codes. With offices in each capital city and in Townsville, we employ over 650 staff.
We offer graduates the opportunity to:
1. Work in a national agency that requires you to apply
and develop your existing skills and knowledge.
2. Contribute to decisions with far-reaching economic, industrial, legal and consumer implications.
3. Develop a rewarding and challenging career.
Our program focuses on providing graduates with extensive on-the-job learning, complemented by
comprehensive formal training. Graduates take part in
three 14-week rotations through different areas, one of
which may be an interstate rotation. We offer:
1. Competitive salary package with increases during the graduate year and at the end of the program.
2. Career advancement – past graduates have frequently reached executive level within six years.
3. Four-weeks annual leave and the possibility to purchase additional leave.
4. Access to flexible working hours, “flex” leave and personal leave.
5. Option of leave without pay for travel or study after 12 months employment.
6. Comprehensive learning and development program.
7. Further tertiary study through time off with pay and reimbursement of some fees.
Our culture & values
“It is the task of the ACCC to bring about greater competitiveness in every sector of the economy. We do this not just because the Trade Practices Act requires us to do so, but because we believe in the fundamental principal that competition is crucial to the economic wellbeing of this nation and the quality of life for all Australians.”
