The NSW Audit Office plays a crucial role in ensuring an efficient, effective and accountable public sector in the State. To do this, the Office:
Audits over 500 NSW Government entities
Conducts assessments of whether agencies achieve value-for-money
Assesses how well agencies comply with legal requirements and government policies
Investigates allegations of serious and substantial waste
The Auditor-General regularly reports to NSW Parliament on the results and recommendations of these audits and reviews.
“The real impact of our work comes from our ability to inform and influence others.”
