Medicare Australia

Medicare Australia is an agency operating in the Department of Human Services Portfolio, along with five other agencies: Centrelink, CRS Australia, Child Support Agency, Health Services Australia and Australian Hearing.

We administer Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (and equivalent services to veterans), Family Assistance, the Australian Organ Donor Register, the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register and other programs.

We have about 6000 staff. Our National office is in Canberra, and we have State Headquarters in each capital city. Our branch network includes 238 Medicare offices across Australia.
