Centrelink Graduate Program
The Centrelink National Graduate Program accepts applications via a range of recruitment streams, including one for IT professionals. We are looking for high quality graduates with qualifications in: IT, Business Information Systems, Business and Commerce, Social Work, Communication/Media, Arts and Humanities, Audit, Accounting and Finance, Human Resources, Law, Psychology and Statistics.
Centrelink IT professionals take advantage of new technology to deliver cost-effective and efficient solutions, and design, implement and maintain Centrelink’s IT systems. Centrelink is ranked fourth in Australia for the size of its network distributions, delivers services on behalf of 25 Client Agencies and distributes more than $55 billion to Australians each year. Your salary will be highly competitive and you will be able to access all the benefits that Australian Public Service (APS) employees enjoy including flexible working hours, generous leave provisions and comprehensive orientation and learning programs. We will also help pay for your relocation to Canberra. For IT Graduates there are three streams, giving you the chance to specialise in whatever takes your interest.
Infrastructure
This stream is focussed on ensuring the provision of a modern technical platform and capability for service delivery, allowing the rest of Centrelink to function to the best of our abilities. The two Infrastructure Branches work on making the imagined not only possible, but fully realised.
Business Analysis
Working hand in hand with Centrelink business teams responsible for policy, the Business Analysts use their IT knowledge and skills to determine how to integrate new initiatives into existing systems. They translate business requirements into systems solutions.
Technical Programming
Centrelink technicians constantly take advantage of emerging technologies to allow IT services to be delivered more cost effectively, and to minimise the levels of business and technical risk. Working in this stream means being at the business end of the keyboard, programming to move Centrelink into the future. “There are so many different things that can happen, so many different projects and applications I can be working on…it is impossible to define a typical day!”
-- Darren Cullerne, IT Grad
