DMO is vital for the nation through our mission to acquire and sustain equipment for the Australian Defence Force.

DMO is involved in many of the largest and most demanding projects in Australia. With over 400 projects and 7000 people working in over 50 locations in Australia and overseas there is a huge variety of fascinating work.

Big Budgets

DMO is a civilian group within the Department of Defence. If the DMO were a private company it would be one of the largest on the Australian Stock Exchange. The DMO has an annual budget of over $9 billion to acquire and sustain military equipment and services. On top of that DMO manages in excess of $60 billion worth of capital equipment projects and systems such as the ANZAC Class ships, combat vehicles and electronic warfare and missile systems.
